Before leaving Fort Pierce Marina, we stop at the fuel dock to fill up. With diesel at $5.82 a gallon and needing 260 gallons, the good old American Express Card makes an appearance. Today’s journey is approximately 50 miles.
We will stay in the ICW the entire way. The water starts out fairly calm and we pass some beautiful houses just north of Vero Beach on Barker Island.
Further north, the water becomes quite choppy with white caps. Prime 11 will definitely need a fresh water bath tonight!
We arrive at the small marina in Eau Gallie. Local live aboards meet us and help with the lines.
It just so happens to be a Wednesday…and Wednesdays, at The Eau Gallie Marina, are potluck nights. What luck is that? Several welcoming locals insist we attend, as restaurant choices are far and few. We come up with some sort of appetizer and attend the potluck. Grilled chicken and pasta salad is on the menu along with Yuenglings. We had a nice time talking with the locals (everyone has a story) and played some cornhole. This marina definitely, so far, wins the award for the friendliest!
We will just stay one night and early tomorrow we will head north to Daytona.
