The Great Loop Travel Blog
Welcome to our Prime 11 Travel Blog! For those unfamiliar us, we are a married couple from Cincinnati, semi-retired, and proud parents of 3 college graduated WORKING children! Captain Tom is a lifetime avid boater and now has set his sights on completing the Great Loop. The Great Loop is a continuous waterway that allows boaters to explore Eastern North America. It is nearly 6000 miles with just over 150 locks. Approximately 150 people complete the Loop in a given year. Those who complete the journey are officially called “Loopers”. On the left, is a map of the route it encompasses. The Orange line from Cincinnati to the Keys is the route we completed 5 years ago (cincinnaticrazy8.blogspot.com). If all goes well, we will cross our wake at the yellow star which is Lake Barkley in the Land Between the Lakes. Then we no longer will be half looped, but official “Loopers”!😀 We begin our travels on Prime 11 from Longboat Key Moorings.
