On this journey, we travel the ICW the entire way after looking at the marine forecast.
We enjoy the 45 mile journey and experience new sights along the way.
We arrive without any incident to Fort Pierce City Marina, despite the very windy conditions. The dock hands were there to meet us and all went smooth. We walk into town for dinner and what do you know??
It is a pizza, beer and BINGO night! Although we didn’t win, we did enjoy ourselves. The beer was good, the pizza, well it wasn’t Larosa’s! Pizza and Florida, in general, just aren’t a thing, we have discovered.
There really is not much to Fort Pierce. We did go to some of the shops, had lunch at a great taco restaurant (Taco Dive) and Captain Tom got his hair cut. We also ventured to the Manatee Observation Center. They had no manatees to observe, but for $2 what do you expect? They did, however, show a nice 20 minute video about manatees that was informative and the gift shop was very cute.
Fort Pierce has a nice, but small, riverfront park. The homeless like to hang here, but lately, that seems to be everywhere sadly.
We spent two windy nights in Fort Pierce. Definitely were able to do and see it all it all in those 2 days!
Tomorrow we continue our journey with a one night stop at a place called Eau Gallie Marina.
