The next leg of our journey takes us approximately 55 miles north to North Palm Beach. We begin our travels on the ICW and will exit into the Atlantic Ocean for the majority of the miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South of Fort Lauderdale, at Port Everglades inlet, we will exit the ICW (Stranahan River at this point) into the Atlantic. There is a large amount of commercial traffic in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We follow several large yachts into the ocean. The inlet is quite choppy. We turn north and head to North Palm Beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enter back into the ICW at the Palm Beach Inlet. We are not alone, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our marina, and home, for the next two days will be Safe Harbor Old Port Cove in North Palm Beach. Since we used dockwa (sort of like VRBO but for marina slips, not houses) to make our reservations, we were gifted a bottle of wine! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spend our two days catching up on chores. We also bring the dinghy to a brokerage. With our constant moving, the use for it has subsided. Once the loop is completed, if it hasn’t sold, we will then decide whether to bring it back on board. For now, freeing up our swim deck and lessening the weight are convincing arguments for its removal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The marina is within walking distance of several restaurants, so Friday we have dinner at a “supper” club which I had no idea still exists. Saturday, of course, we head to the local brewery to watch the longshot, Rich Strike, win the derby. A good relaxing and productive (finally) two days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
