The trip is approximately 32 miles.<br><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>We will navigate under two bridges immediately upon departure.  The first one, the newer Maple-Oregon Bridge with a 24 ft. clearance, we pass under easily without an opening request.  The second bridge, The Historic Sturgeon Bay Bridge, aka the Michigan Street Bridge, built in 1929, has a low clearance of 11.5 ft. and will require an opening.  The bridge opens, on request,  on the half hour and the hour with both bridges operating under one bridge tender. Less than 1,000 people call this land of 2.58 square miles home. On this Saturday in July, they all came to the beach!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/cincinnatiprime11.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG_1469-1.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We explore the area and happen upon The Holy Transfiguration Chapel. It is an Orthodox Christian Church secluded away in the woods. It is a very serene place to light a candle or say a prayer&#8230;if you can find it! The band at the Garage this night is great! Also, there is an additional bar perk, just for us, this particular weekend. As the Reds are battling the Brewers in a weekend series, their baseball games are broadcast on all the bar T.V.s. Our two dinners were excellent. In late May, a parade through town brings the goats to the rooftops. They stay there until mid October, but never overnight. The nights are spent at a nearby peaceful barn on the outskirts of town.  Yes, they have fallen off the roof at times, but no one was hurt and back up they go! Tomorrow is another travel day within Door County.
